Here's exactly what happens when you request a quote through FairRoofQuote
No mystery, no surprises. This is the full picture.
We connect homeowners with local roofing contractors who compete for their business. You submit one form, we pass your details to Networx, and up to 3 roofers from its network reach out to you directly with their quotes. That's the whole model. Here's each step in plain terms.
How it works from start to finish
You describe your roof
Fill out the quote form on any of our estimate pages. It asks for your address, the type of work you need, and basic contact details.
Your details go to Networx
Networx is our lead matching partner. They operate the form and have a network of roofing contractors across the US. Your information goes to them the moment you hit submit.
Contractors are matched
Networx identifies up to 3 active contractors, licensed where your state requires it, in their network who serve your area and your job type. Not every area has 3 available for every job; in some cases you may hear from fewer.
Contractors contact you
They reach out by phone, text or email. They'll ask follow-up questions and schedule an in-person visit to give you a real quote, not a range.
You compare and decide
No obligation to hire anyone. Most homeowners collect all their quotes, compare pricing and approach, then make a decision. You're in control of the process from here.
Who actually contacts you
The contractors in the Networx network are roofing businesses that cover your area. Networx screens contractors before admitting them to its network, and we don't check them ourselves. They're independent businesses, though, so check insurance, reviews and any state license yourself before you sign.
That said, these are independent businesses, not employees of FairRoofQuote or Networx. Their quality, pricing, and responsiveness vary from one to another. This is exactly why getting more than one quote matters. A contractor who comes in significantly lower or higher than the others is worth asking about before you make a decision. Outliers in either direction usually have a reason.
When a contractor contacts you, they know your name, contact details, address, and the type of work you described in the form. They do not see what other contractors are quoting you, so each quote comes without that influence.
A note on coverage: Networx's contractor network is broad but not universal. Rural areas, less common job types, and regions with fewer active roofing businesses may return fewer than 3 matches. If you only hear from one contractor, getting an additional quote directly from a local business is a reasonable next step before making a decision.
What we do and don't do
FairRoofQuote is a lead generation site. We earn a referral fee from Networx when a homeowner submits a qualifying quote request through this site. That fee comes from Networx, not from you, and it has no effect on what contractors charge for their work. We have no financial relationship with any individual contractor and no stake in which contractor you choose or whether you hire anyone at all.
We don't manage the relationship between you and the contractors after the match is made. We don't mediate disputes, don't receive updates on whether work gets done, and have no visibility into what quotes the contractors send you. Our job ends at the connection. What happens after that is between you and them.
For information on how your data is handled when you submit a form, see our privacy policy. The short version: your form data goes to Networx, not to us, and is governed by their privacy policy.
What happens after you submit
How quickly contractors reach out varies by area and by how many are available for your type of job. Contractors may reach out by phone, text, or email depending on their preferences and what you indicated in the form. Some will call first; others will text or email and wait for you to respond before calling.
You may also hear from Networx itself, for example to confirm it received your request.
If nobody has been in touch after a few days, the most likely explanation is that the network doesn't currently have active contractors in your specific area for your job type. It's not a sign that something went wrong with your submission. In that case, searching for licensed local contractors directly and reaching out for quotes is the right next step.
On phone calls: contractors will typically call the number you provided. If you'd prefer to be contacted by email or text first, note that in the project description field when you fill out the form. There's no guarantee every contractor will honor that preference.
Questions people ask before submitting
Is this actually free?
Yes. Submitting a quote request costs you nothing. FairRoofQuote earns a referral fee from Networx when you submit, paid by Networx, not by you. The contractors set their own prices for the actual roofing work, and those prices are not affected by the referral arrangement.
Do I have to hire someone?
No. Getting quotes carries no obligation to proceed. Most homeowners use the process as research, collect all the quotes they receive, compare them, and then decide. Walking away after seeing the numbers is a completely normal outcome and happens regularly.
Will I get spammed?
You'll hear from up to 3 contractors related to your specific request. FairRoofQuote does not call or email you. Networx may send one follow-up to confirm your submission. If contractors keep contacting you after you've made your decision, you can ask them directly to stop. They're businesses that want future referrals; most will respect the request.
What if only one contractor contacts me?
Networx matches up to 3 but it depends on who's active in your area at that time. If you hear from fewer than 3, it's worth getting at least one more quote from a local contractor you find independently. One quote gives you a price; two or three give you a market rate to compare against.
